Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star player, has been working on his brutal injuries for the last three months, ahead of the new season.
While the popular quarterback has been spending a lot of time with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, and their three children, here’s a look at how long it might take Patrick Mahomes to return to the field.
Patrick Mahomes might be able to return to the field in the start of the next season
Even though Patrick Mahomes sustained a pretty brutal injury, as per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the team is positive about his return to the field in Week 1 of the new season.
A few hours ago, the popular NFL insider said, “Their plan is for Mahomes to be back Week 1, and they know that Mahomes, because the way he rehabs, he’s gonna be rigorous, he’s gonna put himself in a position to do so…”
A few weeks ago, as per ESPN, the Kansas City Chiefs’ head coach, Andy Reid, opened up about Patrick Mahomes’ recovery as he said, "He's around here all the time…He spends a ton of time here, seven hours a day.
He's in there cranking away and making progress every day. It's great to see.”
As per reports, it is speculated that Patrick Mahomes will take around nine months to recover from his ACL and LCL tear, which he sustained on 15th December.
Fortunately, the Kansas City Chiefs are likely to play the first match in the next season on Sunday of Week 1, which is potentially on 13th September.
This should work out well with Patrick Mahomes’ recovery timeline since he might be able to start playing from the start of the next season.
Back in January, the Kansas City Chiefs’ owner, Clark Hunt, also commented on how there is a high possibility of Patrick Mahomes returning to the field at the beginning of the season.
Clark Hunt opened up about Patrick Mahomes’ recovery as he said, "He certainly has a goal to be back for the beginning of the season…”
He added, “I wouldn't put it past him. He's somebody in the past who has healed very quickly and, again, his work ethic, I think, gives him a huge advantage in getting back and being ready to play in 2026."
But, for now, neither Patrick Mahomes nor the Kansas City Chiefs has officially commented on his comeback to the field.
Patrick Mahomes has stayed out of the spotlight after getting injured
For the last three months, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star player Patrick Mahomes has been maintaining a low profile and seems to have been spending a lot of time at home with his three children and wife, Brittany Mahomes.
While fans had a lot of hopes from Patrick Mahomes in the last season, he could not perform as well as he did in the last few seasons.
Coupled with his brutal injuries, the season ended pretty poorly for the Kansas City Chiefs.
At this point in time, fans await for Patrick Mahomes to return to the field and win the Super Bowl for the team again.
