Speeding Thar collides with bus, injures 13 passengers

Bicholim: Bicholim police on Monday arrested a 28-year-old man, Omkar Mamlekar, for alleged rash and negligent driving. According to PI Vijay Rane Sardesai at Bamanwado Nanoda, Mamlekar was allegedly speeding while driving a Thar from Assonora to Karsarpal and lost control over his vehicle, when he crashed into a bus on Sunday evening, injuring 13 passengers and himself.Passengers injured were Vandan Sawant, Shrushti Aroskar, Sadhvi Redkar, Divya Desai, Shreya Desai, Tejasvi Desai, all from Dodamarg, while Surva Ghadi, (Kasarpal), Neelam Zore, Sagi Jangale, Janee Zore, Sonam Jangale, Shanti Fale were from Maneri, and Sitaram Arondekar, was from Hankhane.The injured were treated at community health centre, Bicholim.Investigation is in progress under ASI Laximan Ghadi attached to Dodamarg police outpost.
