KTC to start bus service to remote Vagon
Panaji: The state-run Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) is set to introduce a new bus route connecting Panaji to the remote South Goa village of Vagon, in the first direct KTC service to the mining belt settlement. The service, expected to be inaugurated on Friday at Curchorem in South Goa, will initially begin with a single electric vehicle (EV) bus.The new service will operate on the Panaji-Cuncolim-Dabal-Codli-Vagon corridor.Vagon, a small settlement in Dharbandora taluka, is estimated to have a population of roughly 2,000 residents and has depended largely on private vehicles for connectivity. “It is a very remote area,” the KTC official said.Officials said the route was sanctioned following requests from local residents.More EVs are expected to enter the service once new bus deliveries are completed.
