Goa govt announces winners of state best teacher award

Panaji: Goa govt on Tuesday announced 10 winners of the state best teacher’s award, ‘CM Vashistha Guru Puraskar 2024-25’. They will receive the awards at an official Teacher’s Day event on Sep 5.

In the primary teacher category, Chhaya Bokade from Shree Vitthal Rakhumaee Govt Primary School, Vithalapur, Sanquelim, won the award of best teacher for North Goa, and Kamalakar Desai from Govt Primary School, Gauthan, Dharbandora for South Goa.

In the secondary school category, the best teacher awards went to Manjiri Jog, special educator of Keshav Seva Sadhana Narayan Zantye School for Special Children, Sarvan, Bicholim; and Rajmohan Shetye, special teacher from Viscount of Pernem High School, Nanerwada, Pernem, for North Goa. In South Goa, the award went to Kalidas Satardekar of P M Shri Camilo Pereira Memorial Govt High School, Ponda, and Mamata Patil of Smt Anandbai Mahanandu Naik High School, Marcaim.

In the high school category, the winners of the award were Gurudas Palkar, headmaster of Dnyanprassarak Vidyalaya, Mapusa, for North Goa, and Aurora D’Souza, headmistress of Rosary High School, Navelim, for South Goa.

The higher secondary category teacher award was announced for Sunil Shet, teacher of Deepvihar Higher Secondary School, Headland-Sada, and Cintia Maria Borges e Abranches, principal of V V M’s R M S Higher Secondary School, Comba, Margao.
