Panaji: After hovering around 18 degree celsius over the past two weeks, the minimum temperature in the state rose by about a degree. According to weather observations, the highest maximum temperature of 33.2 degree celsius was recorded at Dabolim, while the lowest minimum temperature stood at 19 degree celsius in Panaji and Mormugao, indicating a slight warming trend in night temperatures across the state.
According to the
India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature in Panaji was recorded at 32.1 degree celsius, which is 0.5 degree below normal for this time of year. Relative humidity in Panaji stood at 50%, which is 7% below normal.

In contrast, observations from Mormugao observatory showed a maximum temperature of 32.8 degree celsius, 0.6 degree above normal, pointing to marginally warmer daytime conditions. Relative humidity at Mormugao was significantly higher at 74%, which is 4% above normal.
The IMD has forecast continued dry weather conditions across the state through Jan 3, indicating no large change in temperatures in the coming days. According to the IMD, shallow to moderate haze or mist is likely to occur at isolated locations during the early morning hours till Jan 3. Travellers are advised to exercise caution during early morning hours.
