2nd delay in rail hearing irks Velsao-Pale locals

Vasco: Villagers from Velsao, Pale and Cansaulim affected by the rail double-tracking were upset after the hearing scheduled for Monday before the inspector of survey and land records (ISLR) was postponed to June.Locals were present at the ISLR court at the Matanhy Saldanha administrative complex in Margao in the morning. However, a lawyer appearing for South Western Railways sought an adjournment.“According to the Roznama, in Nov 2025, the railways were given additional time to submit title documents of the disputed land,” said Orville Dourado Rodrigues, a founding member of Goencho Ekvott, a forum of locals opposed to the rail double-track project.
