Delhi CM Gupta launches amphibious excavator machine to clean Najafgarh drain
NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday launched an amphibious excavator machine procured for cleaning of the Najafgarh drain.
"These machines will speed up the removal of silt, garbage and improve the drainage system which is a step towards cleaning the Yamuna river," Gupta told reporters.
Najafgarh drain is one of the biggest contributors to Yamuna pollution. It is estimated that approximately 1 crore metric tonnes of silt has accumulated in this drain, she added.
