New Delhi: CBI has arrested an assistant commissioner of the food and supply department for allegedly accepting a bribe of
Rs 10,000 in connection with the allotment of ration cards.
The case was registered on May 20 on a complaint alleging that the officer had demanded Rs 100 per ration card for the allotment of 475 ration cards. It was further alleged that around 120 ration cards were proposed to be allotted to each nearby shop, including the complainant’s shop, with the total bribe demand amounting to about Rs 12,000.
Following the complaint, the CBI laid a trap and caught the official red-handed while accepting the bribe.
