3 dead, 1 injured in 2 road accidents in US Nagar

Rudrapur: Three men were killed and a 22-year-old woman was critically injured in two separate road accidents in Udham Singh Nagar district on Wednesday evening.In the first incident, a motorcycle crashed into a divider on the Kashipur highway near Bagwala village in Rudrapur. The riders, Ajay Pal (25) of Purana Kheda Basti and Roli (20) of Shanti Colony, Bhadaipura, were returning from Gadarpur when the bike went out of control. Both were flung onto the road and sustained fatal injuries. They were taken to district hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead. Police conducted inquest proceedings and sent the bodies for postmortem. Ajay was employed at a Sidcul-based company. In the second accident, around 8 pm near the Tanda flyover at Matkota-Dineshpur turn in Pantnagar, a container truck hit a motorcycle, in which Naveen Fulara (27) and his sister Prema Fulara (22), residents of Haldhuchaur, suffered serious injuries. They were shifted to the district hospital and later referred to a private hospital in Haldwani, where Naveen succumbed to his injuries. Prema remains under treatment.Pantnagar SHO Nandan Singh Rawat said the injured were immediately shifted to the district hospital and an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accidents.
