Coimbatore man booked on charges of attempting to murder his wife
COIMBATORE: The Vadavalli police in the city registered a case against a 37-year-old man for attempting to murder his wife on Tuesday night.Police said K Devaraj, 37, of Kalveerampalayam and his wife D Baby, 38, who have two daughters, had had frequent quarrels over their debts.On Dec 30 night, Devaraj picked up a quarrel with Baby over their financial issues and started to assault her. When their daughters intervened, he threatened them and sent them out of the house.After a while, he called Baby’s sister and informed her that she had fallen and become unconscious. Baby’s sister reached there and sent her to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. After the daughters revealed the truth, Baby’s sister lodged a complaint with the Vadavalli police on Wednesday.The police registered an attempt to murder case against Devaraj and began investigations.
