T T V Dhinakaran on Thursday condemned chief minister C Joseph Vijay-led TVK govt for the sexual assault of a 16-year-old boy by a policeman, in Kodambakkam in Chennai.
The accused reportedly forced the boy to drink alcohol and then sexually assaulted him. The boy attacked the policeman before escaping to Ashok Nagar police station to lodge a complaint.
Udhayanidhi on X said, “The law-and-order situation has become so precarious that even policemen can’t be trusted for safety. TVK govt should stop poaching MLAs and focus on using police effectively.”
EPS expressed shock over the incident. “The rising frequency and horrific nature of crimes in Tamil Nadu are triggering widespread fear. It is deeply disturbing that the police, who are meant to protect the public, are involved in such heinous acts,” he said on social media.
Echoing similar sentiments, Dhinakaran urged TVK govt to implement robust measures to protect children. “The assault on the 16-year-old boy and the daily rise in crimes demonstrate that none of the CM’s directives to the police department are being implemented on the ground,” the AMMK leader said, demanding immediate govt intervention to restore public safety.
