Two arrested for phone-snatching

Chennai: The city police have arrested two men involved in a mobile phone snatching case in Vepery and seized a stolen two-wheeler.On May 3, the victim, Ilanchezhiyan, 38, was walking along Thana Street when two men on a two-wheeler followed him, snatched his mobile phone, and fled the scene. Based on his complaint, Vepery police registered a case and launched an investigation.Police arrested the accused, Mukesh Kumar, 21, of Purasawalkam and Karuppasamy Pandian, 25, of Pallavaram. During interrogation, it was revealed that the duo had stolen a two-wheeler and used it to steal cellphones in the Egmore area targeting multiple victims. TNN
