Chennai: State transport minister A Vijay Tamilan Parthiban travelled with passengers in a govt bus on Friday and interacted with commuters, drivers and conductors to understand issues faced in public transport services.
The minister boarded a Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) bus at Saidapet, bought a ticket and travelled till Guindy Race Course. He spoke to passengers about facilities available in govt buses and asked whether they faced any inconvenience while travelling. He assured them that grievances would be brought to the attention of chief minister C Joseph Vijay and addressed without delay. He also interacted with the bus driver and conductor and enquired about difficulties faced during duty.
At the Guindy Race Course bus stop, the minister met passengers waiting for buses and asked whether services were operating on time and if enough buses were available on various routes.
