Southern Railway cancels late-night EMU trains
Chennai: Southern Railway has announced changes in suburban EMU train services from June 5 to 6 owing to engineering works in the Chennai Egmore-Villupuram section between Kodambakkam and St Thomas Mount stations. Railways said line block and power block would be carried out from 11.05pm on June 5 to 3.05am on June 6, resulting in cancellation or partial cancellation of late-night EMU services.Two Chennai Beach-Tambaram EMU local services—Train No 40089 leaving Chennai Beach at 11.40pm and Train No. 40091 departing at 11.59pm—will be fully cancelled on June 5.Railways also announced partial cancellation of two services between Tambaram and Chennai Beach. Train No 40208, a Guduvancheri-Chennai Beach EMU local leaving Guduvancheri at 11.20pm, and Train No 40572, a Chengalpattu-Chennai Beach EMU local leaving Chengalpattu at 11pm, will be partially cancelled.
