CPM leader calls for ECI action against Vijay

Chennai: State CPM secretary P Shanmugam demanded the Election Commission of India to initiate action against TVK chief Vijay for alleged violation of the model code of conduct (MCC), referring to his campaign at a church in Trichy East wearing a shawl featuring TVK symbol.Vijay who was campaigning in Trichy East on Sunday visited a church, temple and a mosque where he offered prayers. Shanmugam said the actor-turned-politician displayed the party flag at a place of worship. He argued that this was against the MCC and that the ECI must take appropriate action against Vijay. TNN
