7 IAS officers promoted to chief secretary rank
Chennai: Tamil Nadu govt has promoted seven senior IAS officers belonging to the 1995 batch, to the chief secretary cadre on Wednesday.They are: T Udhayachandran (finance), Sandhya Venugopal (Tidco), Dr P Senthilkumar (health and family welfare), R Jaya (economics and statistics) and M A Siddique (Chennai Metro Rail Limited).

Besides, six more officers, belonging to 2002 batch of IAS, have been promoted to the principal secretary grade. They are: Archana Patnaik (chief electoral officer), Sigy Thomas Vaidhyan (disaster management), C Samayamoorthy (secretary-II to the chief minister), Reeta Harish Thakkar (public and rehabilitation) and Jayashree Muralidharan (social welfare and women empowerment).It also promoted 12 IAS officers of 2010 cadre to supertime scale of IAS. They are R Lalitha, Praveen P Nair, Shankar Lal Kumawat, Subodh Kumar, Ajay Yadav, Rashmi Siddharth Zagade, R Kannan, S Natarajan, A Sivagnanam, L Nirmalraj, S A Raman and A Annadurai.All these promotions will come into effect from Jan 1, 2026. Three separate govt orders to this effect were issued on Wednesday.
