Shimla: Light snowfall in Himachal Pradesh's high-altitude areas and rain in the mid and low hills on Wednesday pulled the mercury further down in the state.Light snowfall was recorded in the higher reaches, including the mountaintops of Kullu, Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur and Kangra districts. Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, was recorded in the low and mid hills of the state, including Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur, Kangra and Chamba districts.Hailstorms were also reported from the Tirthan valley in Kullu district and some areas of Seraj in Mandi district.According to the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, maximum and minimum temperatures plummeted by up to 8-9℃.Una recorded the highest maximum temperature of 33℃, which was 4.9 degrees below normal. Among the tourist destinations, Shimla recorded a maximum of 21.1℃, 3.1 degrees below normal, and Manali 17.8℃, 6.2 degrees below normal.Chamba's maximum temperature dropped by 9.4 degrees to settle at 27.2℃.Tabo in Lahaul Spiti recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 0.8℃.
