Panchkula: The prime suspect and a juvenile have been arrested in the murder of a Dhakoli resident who was stabbed to death during a robbery attempt in Sector 12 on the night of March 2/3.
Police had already arrested one suspect a day after the crime was reported. However, the weapon used in the attack, blood-stained clothes and the victim's stolen mobile phone are yet to be recovered, officials said.

DCP (crime & traffic) Manpreet Singh Sudan said during patrolling, police received information about an attack on a young man. The investigation found that the victim, 29-year-old Deepak of Amethi (UP), who lived on rent in Dhakoli and worked at a Chandigarh call centre, was returning home around 2am when he stopped near Krishi Bhawan, Sector 12, to speak to a friend on the phone.
Two assailants armed with knives attacked him, robbed him of his mobile phone and fled.
Deepak was rushed to civil hospital, Sector 6, where he was declared dead. A murder case was registered at Sector 5 police station, and multiple teams were formed to track down the attackers.
A team led by Dalip Singh, in-charge of Crime Branch Sector 26, arrested the main accused Roshan — a native of Gopalganj (Bihar) and currently residing in Dhakoli — within six hours of the incident. He was produced in court on March 4 and remanded in police custody for three days. Preliminary interrogation revealed that both suspects were under the influence of drugs at the time of the crime.
Police said Roshan also has three previous robbery cases registered against him at Sector 5 and Sector 14 police stations.
