Jind police demolish illegal structures linked to 27 alleged drug peddlers
Jind: In a major anti-drug operation, Jind police on Tuesday carried out a demolition drive against illegal structures allegedly linked to 27 persons accused of involvement in drug trafficking in Chamela Colony of Narwana town. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Jind superintendent of police Kuldeep Singh and Narwana deputy superintendent of police Kamaldeep Rana. All station house officers of the Narwana subdivision, CIA teams and a heavy police force participated in the drive, while the Narwana tehsildar was present as duty magistrate.Police officials said the demolished structures had been identified as unauthorised constructions and notices had earlier been issued by the district town planner (DTP), Jind. The property owners were allegedly involved in drug trafficking and other criminal activities and had been under police scrutiny.DSP Kamaldeep Rana said Jind police was following a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking. "Drug trafficking is not merely a violation of law, it is an attack on society and the future of our youth. Along with legal action against offenders, their illegally acquired assets will also face stringent action," he said.SP Kuldeep Singh said the message from the Haryana government and director general of police Ajay Singhal was clear. "Drug traffickers must either abandon the illegal trade or be prepared to face strict legal consequences," he said, adding that such enforcement drives would continue.Police described the operation as one of the district's biggest actions against alleged drug traffickers and said it was aimed at sending a strong deterrent message.
