Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for increasing the minimum support price (MSP) of all mandated kharif crops for the 2026-27 marketing season, calling it another farmer-friendly decision by the Centre.
Saini said the move was another step towards the govt's commitment to double farmers' income.
According to Haryana govt officials, the MSP of common paddy has been raised from Rs 2,369 per quintal to Rs 2,441, while A-grade paddy will now be procured at Rs 2,461 per quintal against the existing Rs 2,389.
The MSP of moong dal has been increased from Rs 8,768 to Rs 8,780 per quintal.
Officials said the MSP of bajra has been raised from Rs 2,775 to Rs 2,900 per quintal, while ragi has seen an increase from Rs 4,886 to Rs 5,205.
Similarly, maize MSP has been increased from Rs 2,400 to Rs 2,410 per quintal, tur/arhar from Rs 8,000 to Rs 8,450, jowar hybrid from Rs 3,699 to Rs 4,023 and jowar Maldandi from Rs 3,749 to Rs 4,073 per quintal.
The MSP of urad has been increased from Rs 7,800 to Rs 8,200 per quintal.
Cabinet meeting on May 18
A meeting of the Haryana cabinet, under the chairmanship of chief minister Nayab Singh Saini, will be held at 10am on May 18 in the main hall of the Haryana civil secretariat.
