ED raids have ‘nothing to do with us’: CM Mann
Chandigarh: After the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday conducted searches at multiple locations in Punjab and Chandigarh, Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann asserted the operation by the central agency had "nothing to do with us."Replying to a question while speaking to the media in Amritsar, Mann said, "The ED raid has nothing to do with us. They (ED) have come here in connection with some company. They can check anywhere."Meanwhile, Mann said that the passing of the Jaagat Jot Shri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act 2026 was being appreciated as it the stricter law will act as a deterrent against incidents of religious sacrilege. Mann was in Amritsar as part of the ‘Shukrana Yatra"' launched on May 6 to express gratitude (Shukrana) for the successful enactment of the Jaagat Jot Shri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act 2026. The anti-sacrilege law aims to ensure stricter punishments for acts of religious desecration. Starting from Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib in Anandpur Sahib, the Yatrayatra involves Mann visiting major religious sites to offer prayers and engage with the public. MSID: 130898828 413 |
