Drug smuggler gets 7-year jail term in Fatehabad

Hisar: A local court has sentenced a man to seven years' rigorous imprisonment in an eight-year-old narcotics case. The court of additional sessions judge Hemant Yadav also imposed a fine of Rs 70,000 on the convict, Ajmer Singh alias Amrik Singh, a resident of Dhani Sasautawalil in Fatehabad district.According to district attorney Devendra Kumar Mittal, the case dates back to April 8, 2018, when a police team set up a blockade near the Brahminwala police outpost. During checking, the accused was apprehended with 50 tablets of ‘Alprasafe', weighing 117.5 grams. The recovery was made in accordance with prescribed legal procedures. MSID:: 130855803 413 |
