Ambala: Ambala deputy commissioner Ajay Singh Tomar has announced a strict ban on drone flying within a 5-kilometre radius of the Indian Air Force (IAF) station in Ambala Cantonment, citing security concerns. The directive was issued following a meeting between DC Tomar and IAF officials held at his office.
Emphasising the strategic importance of the Air Force Station, DC Tomar said the restriction has been imposed as a precautionary measure to safeguard sensitive installations and ensure national security.
He noted that the Ambala Air Force Station is a highly significant defence establishment, and any unauthorised drone activity in its vicinity could pose potential risks. Therefore, flying drones within the specified radius has been strictly prohibited.
The DC has also appealed to residents living near the Air Force Station to fully comply with the order and refrain from using drones in the restricted zone. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities in maintaining security in the area. Officials reiterated that any violation of the ban would attract strict action as per the law.
