Crackdown on illegal vendors, 6 arrested

CHANDIGARH: Cracking a whip on illegal street vendors, UT police on Friday arrested six persons and seized their goods from Sector 22. Six FIRs have been registered at Sector 17 police station.According to police officials, vendors had been instructed not to put up stalls on pavements and parking lots that caused inconveniences to the general public.Sources maintained there were though many vendors ran away along with their goods on seeing the cops, six of them were arrested. They have been identified as Sanjeev Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Jakir Hussain, Ram Roop, Saroj Khan and Bhupinder Singh. Later, all were released on regular bail.
