The film is set against the backdrop of the anti-Hindi imposition movement that took place during the 1960s in Tamil Nadu with a fierce political drama. Despite facing heavy cuts at the hands of censor board members, audiences packed out morning shows across the state. Actress Shalini, wife of actor Ajith Kumar who also stars in the movie, was also in attendance raising a few eyebrows and putting the release of the film once again on the spotlight.

Ravi Mohan along with his partner Kenishaa, and other industry insiders were spotted at early screenings. The film marks Sudha Kongara’s first collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan, which had already set high expectations. The ensemble cast includes Ravi Mohan in a striking antagonist role, Atharvaa Murali,
Sreeleela in her Tamil debut, and supporting actors Prithviraj, Chetan, and others. Adding to its significance, 'Parasakthi' is Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film and GV Prakash Kumar’s 100th project as a composer.
Shalini’s review adds to positive word of mouth
Shalini, who watched the film on the first day of its release, commented on the film after its screening on Saturday. The actress called 'Parasakthi' a good film and said she liked the film very much as the film is well made. She also gave it a short positive review which subsequently went viral on social media.
The film has also garnered praises from audiences for Sivakarthikeyan's performance in the film, and Ravi Mohan's ferocious villainy has also grabbed the spotlight, and celebrities promoting 'Parasakthi,' seems to have struck the audiences well. The movie has had a good opening and seems to carve out a good place in Sivakarthikeyan's movies.
Censor cuts fail to dampen audience response
With the sensitive political content, Parasakthi was closely examined by the censor board, and around 25 cuts were mandated before release. To meet the scheduled release date, the producers still made the alterations, while the overseas prints screened uncut. Nevertheless, those who attended the film’s early morning shows in Tamil Nadu received it well, commending the acting as well as the bitterness and passionate tone of the film, which depicts the resistance of the Dravidian movement unfettered. Reviewers explain that the film could have had it more biting if not for the censor cuts. However, they concede that the film still maintained its effectiveness.
