2 promise job, Dupe woman of 4L

Chandigarh: The UT Police have booked two persons for allegedly cheating a woman of Rs 4 lakh on the pretext of providing her a job. Anu said she met the accused — Vinod and Rajeev, employees of the MC — through her neighbour in 2021. The neighbour allegedly assured her that if she paid Rs 4 lakh, the accused would arrange a job for her immediately. On Oct 28, 2021, Anu received a call from Rajeev, who allegedly asked her to deposit Rs 60,000 in Vinod's account to secure her joining the next day. However, the accused neither provided the job nor returned the money. tnn
