Rourkela: The body of a woman, which had been recovered in a bush behind a govt school in Rourkela on Friday, was identified by her family members on Sunday. Police are now investigating why the woman, who was from Jharkhand, came to Rourkela and the circumstances leading to her death.
The victim was identified as Sauni Birua, aged 24. She was pursuing her Plus III arts final year in a college in Jharkhand.
On Friday, some locals spotted the body and informed the police. Police did not find any external injury mark on her body. “The post mortem report will reveal the cause of her death,” P Behera, sub inspector of Brahmani Tarang police station, said.
