Winter showers: Light rain & fog may cloud city’s days

Bhopal: The first signs of rain dropped in the form of light and uneven drizzles in the early hours after midnight and then the city woke up to fog and showers on Tuesday. Visibility was reduced to as low as 50 meters. The day temperature dipped below normal due to clouds. Majority of places witnessed showers and a similar weather was expected to prevail.Day temperature in Bhopal on Tuesday was recorded at 24.2 degrees celsius, two degrees less than the normal mark, while the night temperature in the city was 13.4 degrees celsius, two degrees more than the normal mark. There was dense fog and visibility in Bhopal was between 50 meters and 200 meters in the morning. A minimum temperature of 11 degrees celsius was recorded in Rajgarh.Thunderstorm, lightning, rainfall was witnessed in Mandsaur, Ratlam, Jhabua, Agar, Rajgarh, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur Kalan, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur and Bhopal.Hailstorms were observed in Gwalior, Niwari, Chhatarpur and Datia. Very dense fog was in Gwalior, dense fog was in Bhopal, and shallow fog was observed in Datia, Raisen, Ujjain, Indore and Chhatarpur. In the forecast for Bhopal on Wednesday the meteorological dept stated there would be partly cloudy sky with thunderstorms with lightning, light rainfall, shallow to moderate fog in the morning hours. Day and night temperature would be respectively 25 degrees celsius and 14 degrees celsius, while average wind speed will be twelve kilometers per hour.In the forecast for the state the meteorological dept issued warning of thunderstorm, lightning and dense fog/moderate fog for Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Rewa, Satna and Panna districts.
