Bhopal: Ayodhya Nagar police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two men from Raisen district for allegedly abducting a 17-year-old boy, assaulting him and demanding money from him over a personal dispute. The accused were later sent to jail by a court. Both accused have prior criminal records
According to police, the minor, a resident of Itarsi, had come to Bhopal to appear for the CUET examination and was staying with relatives. On the night of May 23, the accused, identified as Anil Malviya and Raj alias Rajiv Kol, allegedly called him to meet them.
SHO Mahesh Lilhare said the accused were upset over the boy’s friendship and interaction with his cousin. Police said the duo allegedly lured the teenager onto a motorcycle and took him to a secluded spot near Udaan Academy in Ayodhya Nagar.
There, they allegedly demanded Rs 2,000 from him to buy liquor. When he refused, the accused allegedly assaulted him with belts and punched and kicked him repeatedly, causing injuries to his head, face, back and limbs.
Police said the accused then forcibly took the boy to Dahod village in Raisen district and threatened to kill him. The teenager later managed to escape and return to Bhopal, where he informed his relatives about the incident.
Following a complaint, Ayodhya Nagar police registered a case and launched an investigation. The two accused were subsequently arrested during a raid in Mandideep. Further investigation is underway.
