Pocso accused out on bail booked again for threatening survivor
Bhopal: A man out on bail in a kidnapping and POCSO case has been booked again by Chhola police for allegedly threatening the survivor, pressuring her to withdraw the case and attempting to force a compromise.Police said the accused had been arrested in 2025 after allegedly abducting a minor girl and keeping her with him for about eight days. The girl later managed to escape and return to her family, following which a case was registered against him under sections related to kidnapping and rape under BNS and POCSO Act. He was subsequently arrested and sent to jail before securing bail recently.According to the fresh complaint, the accused has been repeatedly pressuring the survivor to compromise in the case since his release. Police said he allegedly threatened to circulate old objectionable photographs and videos of the girl on social media if she refused to comply.Police said the accused also allegedly confronted the survivor inside a court premises, where he caught hold of her hand and threatened her to settle the matter. When she refused, he allegedly began following her and continued to pressure her to marry him.The survivor further alleged that the accused had also threatened and intimidated her through other means and had even orchestrated an attack on her. Police said the accused, around 25 years old and already married, is currently absconding.Based on the survivor’s complaint, Chhola police registered another case against him on Tuesday and launched a search to trace and arrest him. Further investigation is underway.
