Bhopal: As the BMC council debated the city’s sanitation system and new waste regulations on Tuesday, the scene inside the hall told its own story. With the air conditioners switched off for the entire sitting, corporators and officials sat through the proceedings in stifling heat, relying only on coolers and ceiling fans.
The humidity was so high that several corporators repeatedly left their seats to step outside. Some could be seen using copies of the agenda as makeshift fans, while others tried to cope by dabbing their faces with handkerchiefs or clutching cold water bottles.
