Bhopal: A bomb threat email promising toxic gas explosions at court premises sowed panic across Satna district on Friday, leading to exhaustive searches at the district court and tehsil courts in Maihar and Amarpatan, officials said. Bomb disposal squads and dog teams swept the sites twice — once in the morning and again in the evening — but found no explosives or suspicious items.
The judiciary promptly notified the administration, which deployed detection units and stationed officers outside the complexes as a precaution. Searches extended to other courts in the district.
"We took the matter seriously and followed all protocols," Satna Superintendent of Police Hansraj Singh said.
"The entire district court complex was scanned thoroughly. Nothing suspicious was found. We are tracing the threat email's origin."
Sources said Amarpatan court in Maihar received an identical email. Police there conducted a full sweep, turning up nothing. Cyber units are working to identify the sender. Officials urged calm and vigilance against suspicious activity.
