Indore: In a major investment push, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday said Madhya Pradesh will host an investor summit for the Nimar region with an aim to attract proposals for the Sukhpuri area of Burhanpur industrial belt.
Further, in a bid to facilitate ease of business, a new access road will be constructed in the Rehta industrial area to improve logistics and convenience for businesses.
The CM also detailed several infrastructure and policy initiatives aimed at transforming Burhanpur into a prominent industrial hub.
To promote local industry, Yadav said, land has been identified for industrial use and policies are being put into practice to facilitate new enterprises.
Sharing big plans to boost the state’s investor sentiment during an interaction with industrialists on Wednesday, the CM hailed the ‘significant’ growth in Burhanpur’s MSME sector saying that the business turnover of the district has risen from Rs 436 crore in 2022-23 to approximately Rs 802 crore.
He added that the state has released the first installment of Rs 350 crore for the Nimbola industrial cluster, while outlining several other changes for an ‘industry-friendly’ policy, including the abolition of the tax on Yellow Lentils (Tuvar dal) and a proposed tax relief for the local cotton industry.
“The State Merchant Welfare Board will be established at the district level to address local business grievances,” the CM said, adding that with 2026 designated as the “Year of Farmer Welfare”, special attention was being accorded to Burhanpur’s banana growers.
