Bhopal: A 16-year-old appearing for her Class 10 boards, Varsha Kushwaha, collapsed while submitting her Mathematics answer sheet at the Pandit Nehru College Part-two exam centre in Morena district on Tuesday. She was rushed to Murar district hospital in Gwalior where she was declared dead on arrival.The tragedy unfolded around noon, just as the exam got over. According to eyewitnesses, Varsha, a resident of Gwalior's Chak Budhara area in Hastinapur police station, suddenly fell ill and collapsed while submitting her paper. The exam centre head, Mahendra Kumar, and teachers rushed her to Banmore Hospital.

Once there, doctors deemed her condition critical and referred her to the district hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.Morena collector Lokesh Kumar Jangid said the post-mortem report, which is expected to be out by Friday, will determine the exact cause of death. "We can't speculate on the exact cause of death yet," he said, adding, "Discussions with officials suggest she was possibly malnourished, which may have triggered a heart attack." Varsha's uncle, Awadhesh Kushwaha, insisted she was in good health.
