Girl kidnapped & raped by maternal uncle in MP's Jabalpur

JABALPUR: A man has been arrested in Jabalpur district for allegedly raping his minor niece after kidnapping her. According to Panagar police station in-charge Vipin Tamrakar, the minor girl, who belongs to a village under their jurisdiction, went missing under suspicious circumstances. Her family filed a missing person's report, suspecting that her maternal uncle - who resides in the Madhotaal area - was responsible for her abduction.Police promptly registered a case of kidnapping and launched a search operation. The girl was eventually found in her uncle's custody. During questioning, she revealed that her uncle not only kidnapped her but also sexually assaulted her.The accused, who is the girl's maternal uncle, has been booked under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act as well as the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) pertaining to kidnapping and other offences.(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
