Cong to gherao Lokayukta office to protest Saurabh Sharma’s bail
Bhopal: The Congress state unit will burn an effigy of Lokayukta on April 5 and gherao the Lokayukta office on April 12 to protest bail granted to transport "scam" accused Saurabh Sharma and his accomplices. "What kind of a state is this? Saurabh Sharma got bail yesterday," Congress state president Jitu Patwari said on Wednesday."Which Saurabh Sharma? The person from whose house investigating agencies recovered Rs 500 crores worth of properties. Who raided his residence? The Enforcement Directorate – Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ED. Also, the income tax department. Yesterday, he got a bail from the Lokayukta. When we protested, the Lokayukta tweeted that the bail is a technical one and the investigation process is progressing. The chief minister of this state should be ashamed," Patwari said.He further alleged that the cover-up of this case was planned by the "chief minister's office on the fifth floor of the secretariat". "And the Lokayukta should be equally ashamed for allowing a bail in this case after 60 days. Why was the transport minister not interrogated? Why was the chief minister not questioned? Why were all those ministers who held responsibility for the transport department, and the transport commissioners present and past not questioned?" he asked."Saurabh Sharma's bail is a slap on the faces of citizens of this state. We will gherao the Lokayukta office on April 12 and burn the effigy of the Lokayukta in every district on April 5," Patwari said.
