Amid fears over water, taps to run dry today due to power cut
Bhopal: Residents of Bhopal are facing a double crisis as water contamination fears coincide with a complete disruption of supply in several neighborhoods.According to a press release by Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday, the Kerwa Water Treatment Plant, which serves large parts of the city, will remain closed on Sunday, January 4 due to a scheduled power shutdown by the Madhya Pradesh Power Distribution Company. The shutdown, planned from 10 AM to 4 PM, is meant for maintenance work on the HT feeder line at Kerwa Dam.

The following areas of BMC Zone No 18 and Zone No 19, served by the Kerwa Water Treatment Plant. Affected Areas will include Damkheda, Sarvadharma Colony, Amarnath Colony, Ambedkar Nagar, Mahabali Nagar, Sainath Nagar, Kanha Kunj, Good Shepherd, Danish Kunj, Rajharsh Colony, Ganesh Nagar, Om Nagar, Rajvaidya Colony, Sankhedi, Banshkhedi, Priyanka Nagar, Garib Nagar, 610 Quarters, Sumitra Parisar, and other areas will experience disruption in water supply.BMC has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the citizens due to the disruption in water supply and has appealed to the enlightened citizens of the city for their cooperation.
