18-year-old girl dies by suicide

An 18-year-old girl died allegedly by suicide at her residence in Chhola area on Tuesday morning. No suicide note was found but police suspect the case may be related to a relationship.

According to police, the teenager had discontinued her studies and was staying at home with her family.

Family members told police that the girl was in contact with a man and frequently spoke to him using mobile phones belonging to relatives as she did not own a phone herself.

On Tuesday morning, the youth allegedly called her uncle’s mobile phone and spoke to her for some time. After the conversation, she went to her room and did not come out for a long period.

Her elder brother grew suspicious and knocked on the door repeatedly, but received no response. The family then broke open the door and found her body.

Cops are examining the call details of the mobile numbers involved and probing all possible angles.
