Jabalpur: Three motorcycle-borne men were killed on the spot after an unidentified speeding vehicle rammed into them near Nadiya Tiraha in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandla district late Tuesday night. The impact of the collision was so severe that the vehicle also crashed into and damaged an electricity pole before fleeing the spot.Police identified the deceased as Umesh Singor, 42, and Bhuvan Lal Singor, 36, both residents of Nandiya village, and Munna Bhanware, 50, a resident of Petegaon village. According to preliminary investigation, the three men were travelling on a motorcycle when the unidentified heavy vehicle hit them from behind at high speed.The accident triggered panic and anger among local residents, who gathered at the spot in large numbers after learning about the deaths. Villagers expressed grief over the loss of lives and demanded immediate arrest of the absconding driver. The incident also led to renewed concerns over road safety and reckless driving on the stretch.Police and administrative officials reached the spot soon after receiving information about the accident and shifted the bodies to the district hospital for post-mortem examination.
Authorities later informed the victims’ family members.Investigators said efforts are underway to trace the unidentified vehicle involved in the accident. Police are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas and checking possible routes taken by the vehicle after the collision. A case has been registered, and further investigation is in progress.
