Times News NetworkBhopal: An empty domestic LPG cylinder was allegedly stolen from the porch of a house in Ashoka Garden area, adding to a series of cylinder theft cases reported in the city in recent months.According to police, complainant Mohammad Khalid Siddiqui, 48, a resident of Friends Colony in Ashoka Garden, is employed as a medical representative with a pharmaceutical company. He reported that an empty domestic LPG cylinder kept in the verandah of his house went missing.He told police that he noticed the cylinder missing around 11.30 am on June 1. Despite searching the house and surrounding area, he could not locate it and suspected that it had been stolen. Police registered a case on Tuesday and initiated investigation.The theft comes amid a spate of LPG cylinder thefts in the city. On March 15, unidentified miscreants allegedly stole four domestic LPG cylinders from the residence of an advocate in Koh-e-Fiza area. CCTV footage reportedly showed three unidentified persons carrying away the cylinders on a motorcycle.In another case on May 2, Ratibad police busted a two-member gang allegedly involved in stealing domestic LPG cylinders. During investigation, police found that the accused targeted LPG cylinders to fund their liquor consumption and lifestyle expenses. Five stolen cylinders, a motorcycle and burglary tools worth around Rs 1 lakh were recovered from their possession.
