Bengaluru man strangles lover to death after she threatened over marriage refusal
BENGALURU: A 27-year-old factory worker from Hebbagodi in Electronics City was arrested on charges of murdering his girlfriend after she threatened to file a rape case against him.
Police said accused Rathan Das, 27, had an affair with Anjali Nath, 47, and she was forcing him to marry her. Anjali worked as a domestic help and both were from Assam.
“On May 9 night, they were sitting near Tirupalya lake when Anjali again asked Rathan to marry her. When he refused, she threatened to file a rape case. Angered, Das strangled her to death, left her body near the lake and fled,” a police officer said.
