EV rider hits truck on Bengaluru-Nelamangala highway, dies
Bengaluru: A 57-year-old EV bike rider was killed after crashing into a truck that came to a sudden halt on rain-soaked Bengaluru-Nelamangala highway near Huskur Cross Saturday afternoon.
The victim is sales executive Lokesh PM , a resident of Basaveshwaranagar. The accident occurred around 2:30pm when he was travelling towards Bengaluru on his electric bike.
Police said heavy rain had made the highway slippery when the truck moving ahead applied sudden brakes. Unable to control his bike, Lokesh rammed directly into the rear side of the truck, suffering fatal injuries on the spot.
The truck driver fled, leaving the vehicle behind. Police urged motorists to exercise caution during rainy weather and maintain a safe distance from fast-moving heavy vehicles ahead to avoid such accidents.
