Sambhajinagar division logs lowest success rate among 9 Maha divisions
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division recorded the lowest pass percentage among Maharashtra's nine divisional boards in the SSC results, which the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education announced on Friday. The division, comprising Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed, Jalna, Parbhani and Hingoli districts, reported an overall pass rate of 88.4%, a decline that officials largely attributed to the stricter enforcement of anti-copying measures during the Std X examinations. According to education board authorities, the intensified "copy-free campaign" significantly impacted the results. It encompassed 2,770 secondary schools, with SSC exams conducted at 643 centres. The number of schools achieving a 100% pass rate also fell. While 687 schools had reported perfect results in 2025, only 482 did so this year. Conversely, the number of schools with zero pass percentage rose from nine last year to 15.Divisional board chairman Anil Sable and officiating secretary Ravindra Vani shared the results in a press briefing. Of the 1,86,598 students who registered for the exam, 1,84,940 appeared and 1,63,520 passed. Among those who cleared the exam, 86,921 were boys and 76,599 were girls.Girls once again outperformed boys, registering a pass percentage of 92.9% compared to 84.8% among boys — a gap of 8.15 percentage points.Parbhani district topped the division with a pass rate of 90%, followed by Beed (89.7%) and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (89.3%). Jalna recorded 85.9%, while Hingoli had the lowest at 83.3%.A total of 74 cases of examination malpractice were reported across the division, including one impersonation case in Beed that led to a criminal complaint. Beed reported 26 cases in total, including 14 instances of copying, while Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar recorded 31 cases, eight of which involved copying. Similar incidents were reported in the remaining districts.Of the 482 schools that achieved a 100% pass rate, the highest number (207) were from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. Beed had 92 such schools, followed by Jalna (78), Parbhani (76) and Hingoli (29).
