Prayagraj: Chief minister
Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday evening attended the first Ganga Aarti organised at the Sangam on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra during his visit to the city.
After addressing a gathering at the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation (PMC), where a programme was held to mark three years of the civic body, the CM proceeded to the Sangam. Elaborate arrangements, including a specially prepared floating jetty, were made for the ceremony. Yogi spent around 15 minutes at the venue, offering prayers to Maa Ganga amid Vedic chants and rituals performed by priests.
During the PMC event, he addressed public representatives, officials and residents, and inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several development projects.
On the occasion of Bada Mangal, the CM visited the historic Bade Hanuman Temple and offered prayers. Chief priest and mahant Balveer Giri accompanied him. The temple was specially decorated, and a ‘chhappan bhog’ was offered. Religious rituals, group recitation of Hanuman Chalisa and Sundarkand, and bhajan-kirtan were held through the day.
Security was heightened across key locations, particularly at the Sangam and temple premises, during the visit. After concluding his engagements, the CM returned to Lucknow from Bamrauli airport in the evening.
