Gujarat board Class 10 results: Record 83.86% students clear exam
Ahmedabad: Gujarat's Class 10 students have scripted history this year by delivering the highest pass percentage ever recorded in SSC exams conducted by Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB). The pass rate for regular candidates stands at 83.86%, improving by 0.78 percentage points over last year. The overall pass percentage, including repeaters and other categories, is 76.97%.From a surge in top-tier A-1 grades to more schools achieving perfect results, the results reflect a broad improvement in academic standards across the state's various districts.As per official figures, 7,69,993 regular students registered for the exam, of whom 7,56,392 appeared and 6,34,327 passed. Among repeater students, 70,934 registered, 67,404 appeared, and 22,598 cleared the exam, translating to a pass percentage of 33.53%. Under the Gujarat State Open School, 25,313 students registered, 23,353 appeared, and 6,590 passed, with a pass rate of 28.22%.District-wise, Narmada topped the state with a pass percentage of 90.85%, while Panchmahal recorded the lowest at 76.42%. At the centre level, Ajol in Gandhinagar district reported a perfect 100% result, whereas Munkhesla in Dahod district posted the lowest at 33.74%.
High scorers also increased this year. A total of 35,508 students secured the top A-1 grade, up from 28,055 last year — an increase of 7,453 students. The number of schools achieving 100% results rose from 1,574 to 1,697.Girls continued to outperform boys. The pass percentage among girls stood at 88.28%, compared to 80.12% for boys, a gap of 8.16 percentage points. Among mediums, English-medium students recorded the highest pass rate at 92.50%, followed by Gujarati-medium at 82.67% and Hindi-medium at 77.20%.Encouragingly, the number of schools with less than 30% results has declined from 201 last year to 164 this year. Similarly, schools with 0% results have reduced from 45 to 39.
