Gandhinagar: The first claim under the PM-RAHAT (Prime Minister Road Accident Victim Hospitalisation and Assured Treatment) scheme of the state was processed, with a 35-year-old man from Mehsana district receiving free treatment worth Rs 47,300, govt said on Tuesday.
The scheme was launched nationally last month to provide immediate and free treatment to citizens injured in road accidents. The state govt said that this scheme has been integrated with the PMJAY-MA ecosystem, providing cashless treatment for up to the first seven days or up to Rs 1,50,000 in govt and empanelled private hospitals following a road accident.
Amratbhai Labhabhai from Gothiya village in Kadi taluka was injured in a road accident and benefited from the scheme, receiving orthopaedic surgery, govt said.
