6 nails hammered into 15-year-old boy’s head as he refused to give money for liquor in UP

AGRA: A 15-year-old boy was critically injured after a local youth allegedly assaulted him for refusing to give Rs 200 for liquor and hammered six cobbler nails into his head Shahpur Qutub village under Roravar police station limits in Aligarh, police said on Sunday. The victim's family alleged that a police outpost officer later slapped the injured teenager and turned him away instead of arranging help.

The victim's grandmother, Dharmavati, said the boy was standing outside his house on Friday night when a village youth approached him and demanded Rs 200 to buy liquor. When the teenager refused, the accused allegedly beat him with slippers, dragged him into a nearby house and attacked him further. The family alleged that six cobbler nails were hammered into the boy's head during the assault.


The injured minor was taken to a nearby police checkpost, but the family alleged that the officer on duty neither filed their complaint nor arranged medical assistance.

The boy later said from hospital, "A local youth saw Rs 200 in my pocket and asked me to buy liquor for him. When I refused, he and his associates started beating me with slippers and later nailed my head. When I went to the police checkpost to complain, a sub-inspector slapped me and drove me away."

His family then took him to the district hospital. Doctor Husain Qasmi, posted at govt hospital, said, "The boy had multiple nails hammered into his head. He was referred to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College for advanced medical care."

DSP Narender Singh said, "A case has been filed under BNS section 109 (attempt to murder)." SHO Bansidhar Pandey said legal action under juvenile law had been initiated.
