Shane Gillis floats Nick Fuentes as possible ‘next Catholic president’ on Joe Rogan podcast: 'Wild' but 'funny'
On The Joe Rogan Experience, comedian Shane Gillis suggested that far-right white nationalist Nick Fuentes could become the next Catholic president, praising his sense of humour.
“Funny as ****,” Gillis said. The remark came as host Joe Rogan reflected on the scarcity of Catholics such as John F. Kennedy and Joe Biden in the White House and asked Gillis if he had anyone in mind.
“Fuentes,” Gillis replied, cracking up. “Nick Fuentes?” Rogan asked with a belly laugh. “He could probably win in a few years,” Rogan said, noting that a figure like Fuentes would have been unlikely to succeed 10 to 20 years ago.
“[Nick Fuentes] could probably win [the presidency] in a few years. Listen, he couldn’t have existed before, right? 20 years ago, couldn't have existed. Now super popular. What's 20 years from now look like? Maybe someone like that could win. There’s like a whole group of people that feel very unrepresented in the world and especially like young men. Here you got this young guy with a very high verbal IQ, and he also does a lot of sh*t posting, a lot of talking sh*t, a lot of trolling, says women shouldn’t be allowed to vote — says wild sh*t and that Piers Morgan thing was like bro," Joe Rogan said.
“That was like an expert sparring with someone who thought they were an expert. They’re playing two totally different games," he added.
Says wild ****.” “I agree,” Gillis responded. “The thing that people try to get Fuentes on is that he’s still funny as ****.” “He’s funny,” Rogan interjected. “So that’s where you’re in a lot of trouble,” Gillis said, referring to Fuentes’ extremist views.
Rogan also cited Fuentes’ appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored earlier this month and said the guest outboxed the host. Morgan had criticised Fuentes for joking about the Holocaust, to which Fuentes snapped back, “Why, too soon?” “He’s wild,” Gillis said as he laughed. “You could see Piers going, ‘Aw, ****,’” added Rogan. “He got hit with a missile on that one,” Gillis chimed in.
