A Pentagon report to the U.S. Congress has raised a major security alarm, warning that China is preparing to flood global defence markets with advanced fighter jets, reshaping the balance of air power worldwide. The report highlights Beijing’s push to export its fifth-generation J-35 stealth fighter, the J-10C Vigorous Dragon, and the JF-17 Thunder, with Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE identified as potential buyers. U.S. assessments also warn that China’s air combat capabilities are rapidly closing the gap with — and in some scenarios surpassing — American air superiority, intensifying global strategic competition.
