Vishaal began his career behind the camera, working as an assistant director on
Guzaarish under Sanjay Leela Bhansali and later on
Aisha. “Acting happened to me coincidentally,” he shares. “My original dream was to become a director.”
His shift to acting began when he was selected as the lead in the TV show
U Turn – Zindagi Ki Oor, completing around 150 episodes. “After that, I worked as a lead in TV for two years, moved to advertisements, did around 80–100 ads, and finally decided in 2018 that I wanted to be on the big screen,” he says.
His film debut came with
Game 100 Crore Ka. Though a couple of projects didn’t release, he remains optimistic. “Now my films are finally releasing, and three movies are coming back-to-back. I genuinely feel that my real journey has begun.”
Vishaal is keen on versatility. “I want to show different shades of my craft,” he says, citing roles ranging from a sincere boy in
Yadav Ji Ki Love Story to a government officer in
Aashiqui Imtehaan Leti Hai and a contrasting character in
Mehndi 2. He adds, “I observed Hrithik sir closely during
Guzaarish. His discipline and professionalism inspired me. I worked continuously for two years with hardly any leave. There were money issues. I did events, started my own company, produced web series. The journey has been tough, but I never gave up.”
For Vishaal, the medium is secondary. “Movies are special, but ultimately, the character matters more than the platform.”
